TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) July 25, 2008--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said it raised the long-term corporate credit rating on Montreal-based Domtar Corp. and its subsidiary Domtar Inc. to 'BB' from 'BB-'. The outlook is stable. At the same time we raised the issue-level ratings on Domtar's senior secured debt to 'BBB-' from 'BB+' (two notches above the corporate credit rating on the company). The '1' recovery rating, indicating the expectation for a very high (90%-100%) recovery in the event of a payment default, is unchanged. We also raised the issue ratings on the company's senior unsecured debt to 'BB-' from 'B+' (one notch below the corporate credit rating on the company).
