Delano Joint Union High School District, CA GO Bond Rating Raised To 'A+' From 'A' On Very Strong Fund Balance

SAN FRANCISCO (S&P Global Ratings) Dec. 19, 2017--S&P Global Ratings raised its rating to 'A+' from 'A' on  Delano Joint Union High School District, Calif.'s general obligation (GO) bonds. The outlook is stable. "The raised rating reflects our view of the district's significantly improved available fund balances, which have increased to levels that we consider very strong," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Cody Nelson. The 11-square mile district operates five educational facilities (four high schools and one adult education facility) in Kern and Shasta counties. The district centers upon its namesake, Delano, with extension into the adjacent communities of Earlimart, Pond, and Richgrove. The city of Delano is located along state highway 99 about 33 miles north of Bakersfield.
