CHICAGO (Standard&Poor's) May 16, 2014--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today it assigned its 'AA-' rating to Cuyahoga County, Ohio's series 2014 certificates of participation (Convention Hotel Project). We also affirmed our 'AA' long-term ratings on the county's general obligation (GO) debt and our 'AA-' long-term ratings on the nontax- and appropriation-secured bonds issued either by or for Cuyahoga County. "The stable outlook on all ratings reflects our view of Cuyahoga County's stated commitment to structurally balance its fiscal 2014 and 2015 general fund and governmental funds budgets," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Carol Hendrickson. The series 2014 certificates will be sold to finance the construction of a convention headquarters hotel adjacent to the Cleveland Convention Center
