NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) July 30, 2007--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that the effort underway by Vail Resorts Inc. (BB-/Stable/--) to acquire The Canyons ski resort in Utah from American Skiing Co. (ASC) currently does not affect the corporate credit rating or outlook on Vail Resorts. Vail Resorts had been in negotiations to purchase The Canyons, a ski resort in Utah, prior to Park City, Utah-based ASC's announcement that it had entered into a July 15, 2007, agreement with Toronto-based Talisker Corp. to sell The Canyons for $100 million.
