Abstract:

TORONTO (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 29, 2009--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said its ratings on FirstBank Puerto Rico (B/Negative/--) are unaffected after the bank's recent announcement of a change in leadership. According to senior management, this development will have no impact on the corporation's financial profile and results. FirstBank recently announced the appointment of Aurelio Aleman, currently Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, as President and Chief Executive Officer of the corporation. Mr. Aleman succeeds Luis Beauchamp, who led the corporation from 2005 until now.
