About This Report

Abstract:

MELBOURNE (S&P Global Ratings) Oct. 27, 2016--S&P Global Ratings today said that National Australia Bank Ltd.'s (NAB; AA-/Negative/A-1+) full year results, announced today, reflect the continuing strong operating performance and balance sheet position of the bank, consistent with our expectations and the current rating and outlook, which remain unchanged. Our outlook on NAB remains negative, reflecting the negative outlook on the Commonwealth of Australia (AAA/Negative/A-1+). Cash earnings from ongoing businesses, after adjusting for one-offs related to exits from U.K. banking and life insurance businesses remain healthy in our opinion. We also consider that these exits and consequently a clearer focus on the banking and wealth management business within NAB's core markets of Australia and New Zealand should help the bank
