LONDON (S&P Global Ratings) Aug. 1, 2022--S&P Global Ratings said today that although Marex Group PLC's acquisition of ED&F Man Capital Markets (ED&F Capital Markets) should enhance Marex's global commodities franchise, the financing of the transaction is still unclear. Once Marex has announced the details of its post-acquisition capital and funding structure, we will consider the implications for our rating. Marex today announced that it has agreed to acquire ED&F Capital Markets for an undisclosed sum. ED&F Capital Markets acts as a clearing broker and broker-dealer in the U.S. and focuses primarily on commodities futures, with a more niche role in the U.S. markets for fixed income and equities.
