FRANKFURT (S&P Global Ratings) March 20, 2025--S&P Global Ratings said today that the announcement by German global multiline insurer Allianz Group (Allianz; AA/Stable/A-1+) that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Viridium Holding AG as part of a consortium of buyers is in line with Allianz's long-term strategy of focusing on strengthening synergies from life insurance and asset management. The transaction is expected to be completed during 2025, subject to regulatory approval. Allianz has agreed to acquire Viridium as part of a consortium that includes Blackrock and T&D Holdings Inc.
