CHICAGO (S&P Global Ratings) April 22, 2020--S&P Global Ratings said today that Cuyahoga County (AA/Stable), Ohio, is adequately positioned in the near term to manage fiscal and economic pressures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. While we expect the economic effects of the pandemic to result in significantly lower revenues for fiscal 2020, we believe that the county has taken steps to prepare for this by updating its revenue projections based on realistic stress testing scenarios and identifying contingency plans to address the projected revenue losses. We believe that the county has sufficient reserves, liquidity, and expenditure flexibility to absorb the revenue loss in 2020.
