BOSTON (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 4, 2015--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings on Franklin, Tenn.-based acute-care hospital operator Community Health Services Inc. are not affected by the company's announcement that it will spin off 38 acute-care hospitals and its health care consulting business into a new, publicly traded company called Quorum Health Corp. The pending transaction does not meaningfully affect our view of Community's business risk profile. While the company loses some scale as a result of the transaction, we believe that its pro forma footprint of 160 acute-care hospitals in 22 states provides substantial scale and business diversity.
