Abstract:

LONDON (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 15, 2022--S&P Global Ratings today said that specialty chemicals producer Clariant AG's investigation into accounting matters may impact our view on the company's governance, depending on the conclusion of the review. The company has delayed the release of its 2021 results as it investigates accounts relating to the booking of accruals and provisions in the 2020 and 2021 financial years. We understand that the financial impact is not expected to be material. Clariant's credit metrics should be able to withstand any restatement without a rating impact, due to the strong 2021 results and the proceeds from the disposal of the pigments segment to a consortium of Heubach Group and SK Capital Partners.
