NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Jan. 8, 2024--S&P Global Ratings today said that there is no immediate change to its ratings or outlook on Boeing Co. (BBB-/Stable/A-3) following an incident involving a 737 MAX 9 aircraft. On Jan. 5, a panel blew off the fuselage of a jet, operated by Alaska Airlines, during takeoff. The plane returned to the airport safely despite loss of cabin pressure. About 170 MAX 9 aircraft with configurations similar to the plane involved in the incident have been grounded to undergo inspections to determine the cause. Approximately 1,400 MAX aircraft total are in service, including the MAX 9 and smaller MAX 8 models. We do not know if the incident will impair the pace of
