...NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) April 28, 2017--S&P Global Ratings today said Mountain View, Calif.-based global technology company Alphabet Inc.'s first-quarter 2017 results reflect continued strong revenue and profit growth as expected, consistent with the rating and outlook, which are unchanged. Alphabet Inc. (##+/Stable/A-1+), Google Inc.'s parent holding company, generated total revenues of $24.8 billion in the first quarter of 2017, up 22% on a year-over-year basis and up 24% at constant currency. The strong growth in the first quarter was similar to that in 2016, driven by mobile search, YouTube, programmatic advertising, Google Play, hardware, and cloud. An overwhelming majority of revenue still comes from Google--$24.5 billion during the period.
