NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 17, 2008--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it is taking no rating action on Allstate Corp. (NYSE:ALL; A+/Stable/A-1) or its subsidiaries following the announcement that Allstate Life Insurance Co. (ALIC) entered into two sale agreements with its parent, Allstate Insurance Co. (AIC). These agreements pertained to ALIC's purchase of certain investment assets from AIC, including commercial mortgage loans and private placements. This action is consistent with management's enterprise asset allocation plans and our expectations. ALIC funded the purchase from available cash.
