HONG KONG (Standard&Poor's) Nov. 25, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today assigned its 'A-' long-term and 'A-2' short-term issue ratings to a Euro medium-term note (EMTN) program of Bank of Communications Co. Ltd. (BOCOM: A-/Stable/A-2; cnAA/cnA-1). The Hong Kong branch of the bank may issue EMTN up to an aggregate amount of US$3 billion. We also assigned our 'cnAA' long-term and 'cnA-1' short-term Greater China regional scale ratings to the program. The ratings have been equalized to the long-term and short-term counterparty credit ratings on BOCOM. All notes issued under the EMTN program will constitute direct, unconditional, unsubordinated, and unsecured obligations of the issuer and will rank pari passu without any preference among themselves.
