NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) June 13, 2003--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that the ratings and outlook on VF Corp. (A-/Stable/A-2) would not be affected by the company's announcement that second quarter sales could be down by 5% to 7% and earnings down by 20% to 25%. Tighter inventory controls by VF's retail customers and modest retail traffic due to weak economic conditions have dampened sales across most of the company's businesses. However, VF's brands are still outperforming its competitors in the various channels. At present, VF is not revising its guidance for the second half of the year.
