Sabre Holdings Corp. (BBB+/Negative/--) reported a profit of $214.1 million for full-year 2002 versus $31.2 million in 2001 (both include special items). Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said its rating and outlook on the company are not affected. Operating revenues declined by 3.5%, due primarily to a 7.8% reduction in travel bookings, from which Sabre generates fees. Revenues rose in all other businesses: Travelocity.com by 2.2%; GetThere, the web-based travel booking system for businesses, by 19.6%; and Airline Solutions, by 3.3%. The company's operating profit rose to $317.5 million from a loss of $8.7 million in 2001, due to expense reductions as well as special items that negatively affected 2001 results.
