NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 18, 2004—Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today its 'AA' rating on Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), Fla.'s debt remains unchanged following the effects of Hurricane Charley, one of the most severe storms of the past 40 years. OUC is currently conducting preliminary impact assessments as Florida digs out from the hurricane. After the storm, more than 75% of total OUC customers (or roughly 149,000) were left without service, including all 21,000 customers served in the city of St. Cloud. As of yesterday afternoon, about 35,000 customers were still without service; OUC predicts most of the remaining customers will have service by the end of this week.
