Abstract:

Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings and outlook on Finland-based mobile handset and infrastructure manufacturer Nokia Corp. (A/Stable/A-1) would not be affected following the announcement of Nokia's impressive third-quarter results. Nokia's performance continues to be strong and vastly superior to that of its peers, with continued growth in the group's core mobile handset business. Although business risk is relatively high in the handset market, owing to short product life cycles and high technology risk, Nokia has continued to increase its market share to more than 38% and continues to generate solid and improving margins in its handset business.
