TOKYO (Standard&Poor's) March 3, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today said its ratings on Nippon Telegraph&Telephone Corp. (NTT; AA-/Stable/A-1+) would not be affected by the company's lowered profit forecast for fiscal 2005 (ending March 31, 2006). Strong consolidated cash flow and expected progress in cost cuts mitigate the downturn in income for the medium term. In NTT's business plan for fiscal 2005 announced on March 1, the company revealed it expects a substantial decrease in income from voice transmission at its two regional operators, NTT East and NTT West.
