NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) May 4, 2006--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that the announcement by Eastman Kodak Co. (B+/Negative/--) that it is exploring strategic alternatives for its Health segment does not affect the ratings on the company at this time, because of considerably uncertainty as to whether a move will target all or only a part of the Health business. If a transaction does occur, a reduction in debt from the proceeds may not fully offset the resulting decrease in business diversity, especially given the sharp decline of Kodak's traditional businesses and the emerging nature of the company's digital operations.
