BULLETIN:EU Antifraud Office to Investigate Wine Alcohol Trade;Impact on Archer Daniels

Abstract:

Standard&Poor's said today that the European Union antifraud office's investigation of the wine alcohol trade for corruption will not have an impact on the current rating or outlook of Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM; A+/Stable/A-1). Recently, allegations were raised before the U.S. Congress that ADM had acted inappropriately in the bidding process for wine alcohol. Standard&Poor's believes that it is premature during this stage of the investigation to assess the potential impact of any adverse decision on ADM. Standard&Poor's will continue to monitor the progress of the investigation.
