SAN FRANCISCO (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 6, 2004--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that UniSource Energy Corp.'s announcement yesterday that it will delay the release of its second quarter (ended June 30, 2004) earnings results and likely postpone its Form 10-Q filing will not have an impact on the credit ratings of its utility, Tucson Electric Power (TEP, BB/Watch Neg/--). The delay, while unfavorable, is resulting from the company's expectations that it may need to recognize as much as $37 million in additional revenues, either as part of its second quarter earnings or in the form of a restatement of past financial results.
