NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 2, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings on Cox Enterprises Inc. (CEI; BBB-/Stable/A-3) and Cox Communications Inc. (CCI; BBB-/Stable/A-3) are unaffected by likely sizable damage inflicted by Hurricane Katrina on CCI's systems in the Gulf Coast region of Louisiana and Mississippi. The affected operations represent a low-single-digit percentage CCI's revenue and EBITDA. However, the company has property and business interruption insurance that should cover much of the property loss, and cushion the effects of foregone revenue, minimizing any impact on the ability of CEI to achieve our low-4x consolidated debt-to-EBITDA target by the end of 2006.
