NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 14, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it views Calpine Corp.'s (B/Negative/--) potential sale of its Saltend plant as favorable for the company's credit quality, but not sufficient to warrant a change in the outlook. Calpine announced that it is currently evaluating strategic financial alternatives for its Saltend Energy Centre, including the potential sale of the power plant.
