NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) June 13, 2018--Under the helm of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the City of Atlanta has released its fiscal 2019 proposed budget, which largely funds a continuation of previous priorities: creating safe communities, expanding access to public transit, facilitating job growth and economic development, and advocating for high-quality public education within the Atlanta Public Schools system. Key takeaways from the proposed budget include the following: The proposed $2.1 billion all-funds budget is balanced with the general fund portion equal to $667.3 million (about 2.9% over fiscal 2018 adopted budget).
