NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Jan. 20, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has assigned its preliminary 'A-' rating to American Airlines Inc.'s (American) series 2011-1 Class A pass-through certificates with an expected maturity of Jan. 31, 2021, and its preliminary 'BB+' rating to the series 2011-1 Class B pass-through certificates with an expected maturity of Jan. 31, 2018. The final legal maturities will be 18 months after the expected maturity. The issue is a drawdown under a Rule 415 shelf registration. We will decide assign final ratings upon the conclusion of a legal review of the documentation.
