The outlook is positive because we could raise the rating if the country's monetary and fiscal policies remain stable through the upcoming government transition. NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) May 26, 2010--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that it affirmed its 'B+' long-term sovereign credit rating on the Republic of Suriname. Standard&Poor's also said that the outlook on Suriname remains positive. The affirmation follows the May 25, 2010, general parliamentary election in Suriname.
