PARIS (S&P Global Ratings) July 29, 2016--S&P Global Ratings said today that its ratings on French power utility Electricité de France S.A. (EDF; A/Negative/A-1) remain unchanged following the group's decision to build the new U.K. nuclear plant Hinkley Point C (HPC). This is because the U.K. government has announced, following EDF's decision, that it will review the project terms and economics, and will therefore postpone its decision to award the contract until this autumn. The outcome of the U.K. government's decision remains unclear and we therefore do not include the project in our base case for EDF. Should the HPC project go ahead on the previously announced basis, we would likely downgrade EDF by one notch. This is because we
