NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 20, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today assigned its preliminary 'AAA' rating to American Airlines Inc.'s (B-/Stable/--) $85.7 million Class G pass-through certificates, series 2005-1, and its preliminary 'BB-' rating to the $46.4 million Class B pass-through certificates, series 2005-1. The expected maturity for both classes of certificates is seven years after the closing and the final legal maturity will be 18 months after the expected maturity. Both issues are being placed privately under Rule 144A. Final ratings will be assigned upon the conclusion of a legal review of the documentation.
