Abstract:NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) May 6, 2008--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today assigned its preliminary ratings to Capital Auto Receivables Asset Trust 2008-2's $1.31 billion asset-backed notes series 2008-2 (see list). The preliminary ratings are based on information as of May 6, 2008. Subsequent information may result in the assignment of final ratings that differ from the preliminary ratings. The preliminary ratings reflect: -- The credit quality of the underlying pool, which has a weighted average FICO score of 717.27 and consists of prime automobile loans; -- The timely interest and principal payments made under stressed cash flow modeling scenarios that are consistent with the ratings assigned to each class of notes; -- The credit enhancement; and -- The
