| Abstract: | MELBOURNE (Standard&Poor's) May 2, 2008--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today affirmed its 'AA-/A-1+' ratings on La Trobe University (La Trobe). The outlook is Stable. The ratings reflect La Trobe's strong balance sheet, its solid reputation in specialist teaching areas, the new senior management team's plans for strategic change, and its supportive relationship with the Commonwealth and Victorian governments (AAA/Stable/A-1+). "The university remains in a transition period," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Danielle Westwater. "La Trobe is in the very early stages of implementing a five-year strategic plan.
