The DoT has clearly stated that it is not looking to ban BlackBerry services, but wants to speedily resolve this issue. According to reports, it has asked Indian operators and BlackeBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) to come up with pertinent solutions and also a timeframe for implementing these solutions. The issue of security concerns surrounding BlackBerry had recently attracted the government's attention when telecom operator Tata Teleservices announced that it could not obtain the permission of the ministry of home affairs to unveil BkackBerry services due to security reasons. Indian security agencies were worried about the fact that the content on these devices is transmitted via an encrypted security layer....
