This industry also includes companies mainly engaged in gathering other forest products or in distilling of eucalyptus oil in the forest. The Australian Logging industry pays forestry businesses and other public and private landholders for the extraction of logs from their timber tracts and then sells these logs to sawmills for processing. It also extracts and sells by-products, such as sap, oils and bark to downstream producers of products such as eucalyptus oil.
