Abstract:US - In May 2008, the board of Barnes Group Inc (BG), a manufacturer and wholesaler of precision metal parts, authorized the repurchase of up to 5 mil common shares, or about 9.22% of the company's common stock outstanding, in open market and privately negotiated transactions. Based on BG's closing stock price of $29.19 on May 7, the last full trading day prior to the announcement of the board's approval, the buyback had an indicated value of $145.95 mil.
