Executive Profile of Advent Software (ADVS) CEO, Stephanie DiMarco: DiMarco co-founded Advent in 1983 and had hoped for an early retirement when she stepped down as CEO in 1999 with the Company doing well. She was compelled to return to Advent as CEO in 2003 when a weak financial services industry and a number of ill-fated acquisitions, "self-inflicted wounds" as she calls them, had caused Advent to lose its way. Since her return in 2003, she has shed noncore business lines, trimmed staff and generally returned the firm to solid annualized sales gains and high customer renewal rates.
