The Industrial Cleaning Activities industry includes all operators that provide specialised cleaning services, including window cleaning, decontamination and a variety of industry-specific cleaning services. Many markets served by operators are typically held to strict regulations that must be upheld, regardless of the state of the market. Therefore, even though economic conditions remained weak during the start of the period, the industry managed to perform favourably. The outsourcing of cleaning services by many public-sector entities also stimulated demand. Industry revenue is estimated to increase at a compound annual rate of 1.6% over the five years through 2015-16.
Operators in the industry provide a number of cleaning services to clients spanning various industries. Services include window cleaning for residential and non-residential buildings, specialist cleaning, industrial equipment cleaning and exterior cleaning for buildings. The industry does not include the provision of general building cleaning (see IBISWorld report N81.210), which is typically interior cleaning of residential and commercial properties.
The report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecast, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
