In the five years to 2015, revenue for home appliance stores in China has been increasing at an annualized rate of 6.1% to $176.1 billion. Rising incomes, the expansion of chain enterprises, greater retail power over suppliers, and wider product ranges have all supported the growth of the industry.
Industry profitability is estimated at 9.1% of industry revenue in 2015. Profit levels vary significantly among different product segments – from about 6.0% for digital appliances up to 14.5% for some kitchen and bathroom appliances.
