Gases that have been compressed can be stored, transported and used more efficiently and more conveniently. Compressed air can be used to power devices such as pneumatic tools. It can also be used to inflate objects like pneumatic tyres, move objects or apply coatings of paint or other substances. Some compressed gases can be used in refrigeration, to produce stronger and cheaper steels and for welding. Exports account for the majority of industry revenue and imports satisfy the bulk of domestic demand. However, it is pertinent to note that imports and exports are inflated to a certain extent by re-exports.
Operators in this industry manufacture air and other gas compressors. Products include compressors for refrigeration equipment, air compressors mounted on a wheeled chassis for towing, turbo compressors, reciprocating-displacement compressors, rotary-displacement compressors and multi-shaft compressors. The production of compressor parts is also included in the industry. The manufacture of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is not covered.
The report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecast, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
