Abstract:

We forecast a contraction of -.- for IT spending in the UAE in ----, the second successive annual contraction as total spending falls to AED--.-bn. Another major driver is the government s strong support for foreign and local enterprises, with the establishment of free trade zones (FTZs) for different industries. ...

...Our outlook for ---- has been downgraded, and we now anticipate a second successive year of spending contraction, again the result of a double digit hardware contraction while the software and services segments continue to grow. The hardware forecast to ---- is also lowered as we anticipate a more significant drag on spending from reduced visitor PC expenditure and cannibalisation of tablet demand by smartphones. ...Our outlook for ---- has been downgraded, and we now anticipate a second successive year of spending contraction, again the result of a double digit hardware contraction while the software and services segments continue to grow.
