Regional expansion plans from Lotte and Shinsegae could detract their attention from the domestic market, with sector dynamism suffering as a result. Legislative restrictions on large discount retailers, in favour of smaller traditional outlets, may impact significantly on supermarket/hypermarket profit margins.
