BMI View: There have been limited developments in the Serbian water sector. This is predominantly due to the country still suffering from the effects of severe flooding in April and May ----. ...However, additional investment and new regulations are starting to counteract these issues. However, despite the improvement of Serbia s water sector being a key focus over the next few years, we see these improvements as hampered by ongoing economic uncertainty and further impeded by the severe damage caused by widespread flooding earlier in the year. Serbia will need to look to foreign companies and governments for loans and expertise to make long term changes to the country s water sector. ...Just over - of wastewater discharged into networks will receive some form of treatment.
