BMI View: We view Kuwait as offeringsignificant potential over the next few years for water infrastructure and service groups alike, as the severe aridity are ensuring sustained investment into IWPP facilities, and under the revised regulations, private sector ownership and operation are becoming more prevalent, offering avenues into both construction and services segments of the water sector. The country is one of the most arid on the planet and yet its water consumption levels per capita are among the highest in the world. ...The planned projects will boost capacity for desalinated water production and waste treatment. The projects include construction of a second phase of the gas-fired Az-Zour North power and desalinated water plant, and a sewage plant that will start by ----.The steady flow of desalination projects form part of the government s efforts to boost its desalination capacity to deal with growing demand from rapid population growth.
