One growth driver for the coming year, ----, is the sale of additional products to existing clients of life insurers. However, the life segment only accounts for around one tenth of all premiums written in the insurance sector. ...Premiums from non- motor lines should be boosted by insurers reaching first time users and by their introducing new products. However, overall growth of the insurance sector will likely be constrained by price competition in motor vehicle insurance, which accounts for around -- of non-life premiums. These trends will likely prevail through the forecast period. ...This means that growth in the non-life segment can accelerate. On the other hand, the fundamental constraints on development of life insurance (such as low household incomes and a lack of understanding of the benefits of life insurance) will continue to apply: growth in premiums will likely decelerate.
