Abstract:

There is upside risk to our forecast as ongoing exploratory activity could prove-up oil reserves. For example, Germany s Wintershall announced a sizeable oil discovery at the Hibonite exploration well in the Danish North Sea, located in the -/-- licence. ...Xana --X: Drilled by Maersk Oil in license -/-- in May ----, the well proved the presence of hydrocarbons. The companies will now evaluate the results of Xana--X and make plans for the additional work that is necessary to determine if the hydrocarbon discovery can be produced commercially. In another recent development, UK-based explorer Nordic Energy was awarded in September the --/-- licence which covers around -,--- square kilometres offshore Denmark. ...In January ----, ESP Oil & Gas applied for a licence for exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Open Door area, in the eastern part of the North Sea.

...The seventh licensing round was launched in April ----, and licenses were finally awarded in April ----. Sixteen oil and gas licenses were awarded to -- companies. ...We have downgraded Denmark s oil production forecast from ---- onwards on the back of new delays to the Hejre field development.
