However, future upgrades to Rewards scores face notable downside risks as global economic headwinds weigh on the Country Rewards element, while the markets Industry Rewards scores are tied down by the limitations to subscription and ARPU growth. The rankings for the more developed telecoms markets in the APAC region continue to demonstrate stability this quarter, with the -- countries that outperform the APAC regional average all maintaining the same rank they had last quarter. APAC s average Country Rewards score received a minor boost of -.- points this quarter, as China, Japan and New Zealand s Country Rewards scores each improved by three points or more q-o-q, although their final ranking was not affected by this. Within the mobile market, -G/-G growth will be a core driver. We expect the -G/-G market to grow by an average y-o-y rate of -.- and reach a penetration rate of --.- by ----. -G/-G growth will be fuelled by falling global smartphone prices and with the volume of budget smartphone production located in Asia s telecoms market, it will be one of the first to benefit from this trend.

...While advanced broadband networks are relatively comprehensive in developed telecoms markets such as Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan, other markets are struggling with patchy and outdated fixed broadband infrastructure that often bypass rural areas. The archipelagic nature of the Philippines, Indonesia and the Pacific islands amplify commercial challenges in broadband expansion, and we do not see a remedy of this situation anytime soon. ...
