CANADA - NewPage Corp of the US, a wholly-owned unit of Cerberus Capital Management LP's wholly-owned Newpage Holding Corp subsidiary, agreed to acquire the coated groundwork paper book of business of Domtar Corp, a Montreal-based manufacturer and wholesaler of uncoated freesheet paper and papergrade, fluff and specialty pulp.

US - Brazos Private Equity Partners LLC (Brazos) acquired Tri-Ed Distribution (Tri-Ed), a Woodbury-based wholesaler of security, low voltage, and home automation products. Terms were not disclosed. Concurrently, Brazos acquired Northern Video Systems Inc (Northern). On completion, Northern and Tri-Ed was combined and named Tri-Northern Security Distribution Inc.

US - GI Partners LLP acquired an undisclosed minority stake in Advoserv Inc, a Bear-based provider of medical education services. Terms were not disclosed.

PERU - Odebrecht SA of Brazil, a unit of Kieppe Patrimonial S/C Ltda's Kieppe Investimentos subsidiary, agreed to acquire a ##% interest in Kuntur Transportadora de Gas SAC, a Lima-based provider of gas transportation services, from Conduit Capital Partners LLC, for PEN #.### mil (USD #.# mil).

CANADA - Lulu Enterprises Inc acquired MRX & Associates, a Hamilton-based developer of sports websites software, for CAD #.# mil (USD #.### mil) in notes.

US - Westbrook Partners LLC acquired a ##.##% interest in the # luxury hotels, located in New York, of Millennium Partners LLC, a New York- based real estate development firm, for USD ### mil, in a leveraged buyout transaction. US - Eastman Chemical Co definitively agreed to acquire Genovique Specialties Corp, a Rosemont-based manufacturer and wholesaler of benzoic acid, sodium benzoate and specialty plasticizers, from Arsenal Capital Partners LP. Terms were not disclosed.

US - KSL Capital Partners LLC acquired La Costa Resort & Spa, a Carlsbad-based owner and operator of a hotel, in a leveraged buyout transaction.

Concurrently, the Portuguese government was seeking a buyer for its ##. ##% stake in EID SA, ##% interest in Edisoft, ##.#% interest in Sociedade Portuguesa de Empreendimentos, ###% in Comboios De Portugal and in Empresa De Manutencao De Equipmento Ferroviario SA.

POLAND - Infovide-Matrix SA agreed to acquire ##% stake in Utilis IT Sp zoo, a Wroclaw-based provider of consulting and information technology services.

BRAZIL - Norse Energy Corp ASA of Norway planned to merge its Norse Energy do Brasil Ltda unit with Pan Petroleum Master LP's assets in Brazil, an oil and gas exploration company, to form a joint venture. Upon completion, the joint venture was to be named New Brazil Holding ASA, and Norse Energy was to own ##% and Pan Petroleum the remaining ##% of the joint venture.

ARGENTINA - In March ####, Intesa SanPaolo SpA was rumored to be seeking a buyer for its #.##% stake, or about ##.### mil ordinary shares, in Banco Patagonia SA, a Buenos Aires-based commercial bank, in a privately- negotiated transaction. Brazilian state-owned Banco do Brasil SA was named potential bidder.

FRANCE - In March ####, Clinique Chirurgicale de la Loire SA, a Saumur-based owner and operator of hospital, announced that it was seeking a buyer for the company. Holding Hoteliere Hospitaliere entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Clinique Chirurgicale de la Loire.

BRAZIL - Steel do Brasil Participacoes SA acquired a ##% interest in Jiboia project, a Bonito-based iron ore mining company, for BRL ###.### mil (USD ### mil).

BRAZIL - PDG Realty SA Empreendimentos e Participacoes acquired a ##% interest in Jet Casa SA, a Sao Paulo-based manufacturer of reconstituted wood panels.

INDONESIA - In March ####, Gem Diamonds Ltd (Gem), a London-based diamond mining company, announced that it was seeking a buyer for its undisclosed mine assets. Concurrently, Gem announced that it was seeking a buyer for its undisclosed mining asset in Central African Republic.

RUSSIA - OOO "Natalie tours" acquired a ##% stake in OOO "Tourix holidays", a Moscow- based travel agency. Concurrently, OOO "Natalie tours" was granted an option to acquire the remaining ##% interest, it did notalready own, in OOO "Tourix holidays".

CHINA - CMIC Property (China) Ltd of Hong Kong, a wholly- owned unit of China Poly Group Corp (CPGC)'s Poly (Hong Kong) Investments Ltd subsidiary, agreed to acquire the entire share capital of Rapid Bloom Ltd, an investment holding company, from Cedar Key Ltd, a wholly- owned unit of CPGC's Poly (Hong Kong) Holdings Ltd subsidiary.

MALAYSIA - Kulpulan Gapadu Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Malton Bhd acquired the remaining ##% stake, which it did not already own, in Pioneer Haven Sdn Bhd, a real estate development firm for a nominal consideration of MYR ## (USD ##.###) in cash. Pioneer Haven Sdn Bhd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Kulpulan Gapadu Sdn Bhd.
