| Abstract: | SAN FRANCISCO (Standard&Poor's) Nov. 3, 2009-- Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to Yale University, Conn.'s $1 billion medium-term notes. In addition, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AAA' long-term rating on various bonds issued by and for the university. The outlook is stable. "The 'AAA' rating reflects our view of the university's historically strong financial performance, history of successful fund raising, as well as impressive demand for its academic programs," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Jessica Matsumori. "Further supporting the rating is the university's still adequate, though significantly reduced coverage of financial resources to debt." The university plans to use proceeds from the notes to refund $560 million of taxable commercial paper (CP)
