Abstract:
Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A-' rating to Remington Municipal Utility District (MUD) No. 1, Texas' series 2010 unlimited-tax refunding bonds. At the same time, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'A-' underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's existing debt. The outlook is stable. The ratings reflect our view of the district's: Mature status of development, with limited additional capital needs; Participation in and access to the deep and diverse Houston MSA economy; and Strong financial position. These factors are offset, in part, by the district's high overall net debt burden An unlimited ad valorem tax on all taxable property within the district secures the bonds. Officials will use bond proceeds to refund a portion of the MUD's debt
