| Abstract: | Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A+' long-term rating and underlying (SPUR) rating on the Michigan State Hospital Finance Authority's series 2007, 2005, and 2001 hospital revenue and refunding bonds, issued on behalf of Sparrow Obligated Group, Mich. The outlook is stable. Sparrow Health System has historically been a very stable performer, as highlighted by historically strong operating margins, a stable business position, and a light debt burden. Sparrow was challenged in 2008 to absorb the significant costs of opening a new patient tower, which led to a significant decline in operating income, the extent of which was unexpected.
